Absence applications are submitted only in the front-end and follow their approval process.

In the case of more than one approvers, the application proceeds upon each approver until it reaches the final approver and once approved by the final approver it is finally approved (Final Approval Status = Approved). If during this course the application is rejected by an approver, the application gets a Final Approval Status = Rejected and it is is not forwarded to the following approvers in chain.

An approver has access (including viewing) to the absence application only when the last previous approver approves the application.

The approver once approves or rejects an application he/she continues to have access to it until the next approver approves or rejects the application, except in the case of being the last approver.

Please see example below.

The A/L approvers of Andrew Deen are Peter Dunne being the 1st approver and John Smith being the second approver. Andrew Deen applies for A/L. (Screen A).

As long as the 1st approver takes no action, Andrew Deen continues to have edit access to his application (Screen B). Peter Dunne has edit access to the application of Andrew Deen (Screen C). He edits the application of Andrew Deen and approves it (Screen D). Peter Dunne continues to have edit access to the application until the next approver takes action (Screen E). Andrew Deen has no longer edit access to his application since the first approver took action. Still his application final approval status is 'Pending' since there is one more approver to go (Screen F).

After the first approver took action, John Smith has now edit access to the application of Andrew Deen being the 2nd approver (Screen G). He edits the application and rejects it (Screen I). He continues to have access to the application because he is the last approver.

Peter Dune has no longer edit access to the application since the last approver took action (Screen J). Peter Dune approval is recorded but last approver action is Rejection.

Andrew Deen get the final status for his application (Screen K).
